A Miracle Happened!

Our friend's mother went into the hospital for knee surgery earlier this week. The family was told to come in and say their good-byes. Jenny and Jonathan asked for prayer for their mother. And people responded with lots of prayer, not only for the mother, but for her husband and children. After bedside prayers, the mother began to respond. Today her DIL posted the following:

They were able to take out her breathing tube this morning. She was even trying to take it out herself! :) She can move her arms and she can talk in a whisper. They think that she may be starting some physical ther. this afternoon. It also looks like they will be moving her out of the ICU and into a regular room. We still have a long way to go but this is a huge improvement from what we have seen.

We give God all the glory and praise. Thank you, Jesus.

Now for quilting:

Last night was the Blair Hill's Sew B.
We only had 4, but it was very nice. Darlene, Kristie and I pretty much sat and talked....we did do a little work. Marcia got the borders on her quilt!

Kristie brought 3 quilts to share:

I finished one of the Prairie Women's Sewing Circle tops. This is the Leap of Faith quilt. I'm also going to make one in blue with rounded corners. Cathy M and I will start teaching this class after the first of the year. I think the class will be held for 6 months on the third Wednesday. If you are in the South Bend, IN area..we'd love to have you join us!

Cake first...then lunch!

Today was a special day..it was BJ's 29th Birthday! He chose Ginos East Pizza for his birthday lunch. We met him there after church. Denver, Marcia and the Boys too. As a special treat...we ate the cake as an appetizer while we waited for the pizza. The boys actually had 2 pieces of cake...one before and one after the pizza! Ben was a little hyper! It was a nice lunch and BJ had plenty of help opening his gift!

Kindergarten!

Ben was off to school for his first day of Kindergarten yesterday. He was sooooo excited. I can't believe how the time has flown by....and how big he is!

The night before was a meet and greet at his school and I was privileged to go with him.

He found his mailbox!

AND...he showed me the fish with the WHITE FEATHERS! Good luck Ben! AND remember, you must learn AT LEAST one new thing a day. I'm going to ask you!

A long week...and now Ben.

It's been a long stressful week. Doctors, tests and stress. Ben was a nice diversion. We went shopping and bought a little craft "band saw" that he used to cut up a puzzle out of foam board and we finally bought the movie "Astro Boy". Swimming, painting, miniature golf and a stop for STRAWBERRY Ice Cream. We had lots of huggin' and lovin' going on...to the point last night when he told me: "I've had enough kissin'". Then he kissed my hand once more.

Little Caleb

Little Caleb finally got his turn to spend time with memaw and papa without his brothers. He came home with us after church yesterday...went swimming two times! Watched the NASCAR race with me between "naps"...then we went to St Joe, Michigan for dinner. We went to Clementines Too and sat outside to watch the boats go by. Then we went to the lighthouse pier and then to the beach for a little walk at sunset. It was a good day. By the time we got home he was really wired, so he watched Scooby Doo till after 11pm. Then he talked to me til the wee hours of the morning. It's 8:30am and he's sleeping. He's going to have to wake up soon...I have to go to work! We had a good time.

Amish Acres and Painting Rocks

I spent a wonderful day with my daughter and grandsons at the Amish Acres Arts and Crafts Festival. It is huge! We had a great time looking at all the crafts and animals and they even got to take a swan boat ride. We brought home some ceramic mushrooms and some kettle corn. We saw some painted rocks and decided to come home and paint some rocks of our own. Eli thought it great to paint himself. It was a nice day to get away and get my mind of some things that I have been worrying about that I need to put in His hands.

Prairie Women's Sewing Circle

WOO HOO! The patterns and information came into the store for the Club that Cathy M. and I are teaching. It is the Praire Women's Sewing Circle and will be a six month club starting in January. That gives me just a few months to complete all these projects! If you are in the area, I hope you can join us. There may also be an online club too.
